'One of the main problems with online classes  is that they were primarily impersonal lectures and assignments. There was little or no time for students to interact with their peers. In fact, the kids could be muted as a group, and the only one with control was the teacher.  Experienced teachers know that classroom culture affects the way kids feel about the class and about themselves, and it also affects whether or not they learn. Classroom culture is even more important during the pandemic, when kids have been out of school for months. They miss their friends, feel isolated, and want to be accepted', writes Ester Wojcicki in her blog.
